Camphill California Celebrates the Opening of Paloma Hall!

Friends and Families gathered together on September 29, 2012 to celebrate the Opening of Paloma Hall, an exciting capital project that took several years to conceive and build. Paloma Hall now provides an assembly space for Camphill California's daily gatherings, therapeutic workshops, festival plays and musical celebrations. In addition we celebrated an extension to our large home Marimi that includes an extra bedroom, new laundry and bootroom, and renovated porch. We are so thankful to all those who supported this much needed capital project!

Enjoying the Harvest at our Family Workshop

Following the Opening of Paloma Hall we enjoyed our annual Family Workshop. We all joined together in song before sharing a lunch featuring salad from our gardens, chutney from our culinary team and the fellowship of our growing community of family members.

Creating Social Art at Camphill California

Prior to the Paloma Hall Opening and family workshop, some community members created a social art performance to symbolize the transition from our old meeting space at the House of Ishi to our new meeting space at Paloma Hall. A garland made from strips of old material was hand-tied by community members and placed along the path between our houses. Linking old and new, past and present, the garland visually reminded us that we are tied to one another through the bond of community.
