Summer Art Program - We Need You!!  

NVAL runs the City of Redding's Summer Art Program offered as a reward for children aged approx 7 to 10 who are enrolled in other City programs.   

The program is Monday and Friday, June 9 - August 14 and is held in the NVAL Carter House Gallery workroom. Class size is 10 students.  Time requirement for volunteers is approximately 2 hours.  Volunteers need to come at 10:30 am to set up. Class is 11 am to 11:45 am, then with cleanup you are done no later than 12:30 pm.

You can sign up to teach more than one class (always appreciated). Simple projects such a sponge stamping are great.

Please call Bill Howell  at 242-1703 to volunteer.

Harvey Spector -- Basic Digital Photography, Lightroom and Photoshop


Harvey is one of Redding's premier photographers. He has a degree from Pasadena Art Center College of Design, has worked at the Getty Museum and taught Photography at Shasta College among other accomplishments.

Course is composed of 4  classes starting June 6  and running through June 27 at NVAL Carter House Gallery.  Sessions are each Tuesday from 6 to 9 pm.

Class size will be 10 - 12 students.

Cost is $100 for the entire month of classes (12 hours of instruction)  Payment to be made at the first class.

SLR camera 

Lightroom and/or Photoshop on a Laptop Computer to bring to class. Photographic Creative Cloud (Lightroom, Photoshop and Bridge) is available from Adobe.com for $9.99 per month with an annual commitment.
