HARVEY UPDATE:

"The Church is ... shining like a bright light in the midst of darkness." Jim Herrington, Long-Time Houston Church Network Leader

Last week was an especially wondrous display of God's hand in all we do. It was joyous to see a wonderful crew of FUMC Plano volunteers working alongside volunteers from our sister churches as we opened a collaborative collection center caring for potential evacuees at Christ UMC "Hotel Harvey." At this time we are suspending collections as, thankfully, Christ UMC has not been called to house Harvey evacuees. Be assured all donations are needed and will be distributed to those in need affected by Hurricane Harvey. At this time, we are only asking for financial donations to the North Texas Disaster Relief Fund. Sundays generous contributions from communion rail, offering and the Mission Teams totaled $10,000.

Thank you for being the church who clearly demonstrates what it looks like to be "the hands and feet" of Christ in his very selfless service to evacuees of Hurricane Harvey shining a bright light in the midst of darkness.
