MESSAGE FROM
THE HEAD OF SCHOOL

Over the past several months, an increasing portion of administration's time has been dedicated to planning the next school year. This week our faculty joined us in shifting gears and started full-steam ahead preparing for late August. Sensing the high energy and excitement in the room, one would never guess that this was a group who had just completed a year of classroom teaching. There was not a trace of exhaustion in the room - and we all know how hard they work! I was taken by the camaraderie of our staff. Everyone was genuinely happy to be with everyone. Everyone was truly grateful for the support that they gave each other over the past year. It is clear that our faculty is composed of people who are energized by their commitment to your children and to the school itself. We really are a Yavneh family!

A key member of our Yavneh family, Melissa Fehl, Director of Finance and Operations, has recently made the decision to leave her position at the end of this month. For over a decade Melissa has invested much of her time and energy to creating systems and building relationships that have enabled our school to succeed.

Sue Balfus, who taught in the first grade classroom, has a business background and has been helping part-time in the office over the past year. Sue will be stepping into the full-time role of Business Administrator and will assume many of Melissa's duties. We also are putting together a team to implement a smooth transition.

While Melissa (and her family) will be ending their daily commute to Yavneh, we will always consider them a part of the Yavneh family and look forward to maintaining our connection for years to come. We deeply appreciate Melissa's contributions and especially her devotion to our community and wish her the best of luck on her future journey.

Shabbat Shalom  -Zvi

MOVING UP CEREMONY
During the last day of school, students took part in a Moving Up Ceremony. Each class led a prayer under the chuppah. In addition to leading the prayer, a few students from each class introduced the prayer by explaining how they felt the it connects with the big idea of "moving up".  Following the service, students visited their new  grade level classrooms.
