Adopt a Tree Well
The Recreation & Parks Department is excited about the
new Downtown beautification program "
Adopt a Tree Well
". This program, brought to the community by the Downtown Economic Development Fund Council, allows individuals, organizations or businesses to "adopt" a tree well for a contribution of $199.00.
To adopt a tree well, simply complete the
tree well form
and submit along with the $199.00 sponsorship fee to the Recreation Office at the Community Center, 95 Broadway. Please make checks payable to: Village of Ossining.

The Westchester Collaborative Theater is holding July Reading of One Act Plays. Directed by NYU Tisch School of the Arts Professor Nathan Flower, known for his directorial work Off Broadway and abroad and for his drama instruction at various actor studios in Manhattan. The four plays, a blend of insightful drama and engaging comedy, were developed and dramaturged through WCT's lab workshop process. The plays are: The Park by Susan Courtney; Got No Claim by Carol Mark; Missouri Pals by Joe McDonald; The Erythrosine Ballad by Pat O'Neill. The WCT ensemble cast includes: Rick Apicella, Zack Barela, Missy Flower, Miguel Angel Garcia, Julie Griffin, Kurt Lauer, James Leeper, Roberta Robinson and Jane Valentine. Join Ossining Historic Cemeteries Conservacy for Gravestone Cleaning Workshop on July 15th, August 19th, September 16 from 9am - 12pm at Historic Sparta Cemetery. The mission of the Ossining Historic Cemeteries Conservancy is to preserve, enhance and share the beauty and history of Dale and Sparta Cemeteries for the benefit of present and future generations. The Conservancy will provide assistance and opportunities for community outreach, fundraising and cemetery enhancements by offering public tours of these historic sites, education in cemetery history and landscape design, and hands on training in monument restoration and restoration. Majority Leader Catherine Borgia's
office is pleased to announce that it will be accepting letters of interest and resumes for the Summer and Fall 2017 internship program at the Westchester County Board of Legislators. High School seniors and College students throughout Westchester communities are eligible and encouraged to apply. Interning at the Board of Legislators gives students an opportunity to gain an understanding of the legislative process and see firsthand how government works, familiarize themselves with working in an office setting, be an integral part of the district offices public affairs, community outreach, event planning and hone their research skills to help others. While internships are unpaid they are for credit and require high school and college accreditation/affiliation.
