Our bags are packed and we're getting ready to travel to Dubai for the 2014 Arab Health Show this week! We are very excited to meet lots of new people. In fact, they are expecting over 85,000 people from 153 different countries. Can you imagine all of the different languages?

The management of Tembua is pleased to announce the addition of Jeff Olsen as Sales Director. Jeff holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Montana, and his extremely broad experience as a sales professional allows him to serve Tembua's wide client base effectively. He is able to talk knowledgeably with technology companies, software firms, and automation manufacturers. Jeff understands the needs of both startups and Fortune 500 companies. He will represent Tembua at events from California to Dubai. Say hi when you see him!

  • Avoid admiring an item to an excess, your host may feel obligated to give it to you. When offered a gift, it is impolite to refuse.

  • There are several styles of greetings in use, it is best to wait for your counterpart to initiate the greeting. Men shake hands with other men. Some men will shake hands women, however it is advisable for a businesswoman to wait for a man to offer his hand. They submitted their product description in English and waited for other companies to contact them. But none did. Why? They had translated their information using automatic, free translation software. With no native English speakers on staff, they had no way to know that the software jumbled their information so much that the other company representatives simply could not tell what they were promoting.

All advances in technology need to be examined carefully to avoid throwing out the baby with the bathwater. Central air conditioning is wonderful, but it hasn't caused us to abandon box fans and opening our windows. A kitchen gadget that takes longer to set up than to use shouldn't replace a simple knife.
