Fellow Marine parents,

The mission of MarineParents.com, Inc., is to provide support, information, and services to Marines and their family members, and create opportunities for the public to support our troops through the organization's outreach programs.

We have outreach programs that cover each stage of your Marine's career. From our Recruit Parents pages to the Gold Star families and Luminary Initiative. We are here for Marines and their family members to help them stay better prepared for what lies ahead.
In this newsletter, meet a volunteer and a Team Marine Parents participant, learn  about foot patrol training and health insurance. You can also sign up for the Luminary Initiative Newsletter and take the DoD OPSEC quiz.

God bless and Semper Fi!

Embracing All Stages of Marine Parents

MarineParents.com is there for every stage of Marine's career. When you compare the journey of each of our Marine Parents, family members, and Marines, we each have our own stories to tell and we're each in the journey at a different level of understanding and the emotions that go along with it. It's important to embrace the career stage that each of us is experiencing, as that is the definition of the Marine Corps family.

OPSEC Quiz

OPSEC is keeping potential adversaries from discovering critical Department of Defense information. As the name suggests, it protects U.S. operations — planned, in progress and those completed. Success depends on secrecy and surprise, so the military can accomplish the mission more quickly and with less risk.

Featured TMP Participant:
Marianne Tullis

Team Marine Parents (TMP) is a group of individuals, generally parents, family and friends of Marines, who participate in athletic events nationwide to support our troops. The mission is to raise funds and awareness of the organization's outreach programs.

Our featured TMP participant this week is Marianne Tullis. Marianne is no stranger to the military, with family members serving as far back as World War II. She was inspired to start running by her son, the father of her Marine grandson.

SOI: Foot Patrols

While attending the School of Infantry (SOI), Marines will be instructed on how to conduct foot patrols in both urban and rural environments. Learning the proper techniques of foot patrolling is a critical component to becoming a rifleman, as patrolling is a key element of asserting combat power and gaining battlefield dominance to accomplish the mission.
