 Principal's Corner

Greetings!  It's finally beginning to feel like fall and we have several events coming up to match the theme.  This month we celebrate all students who met their AR goal on Friday, October 20th for our Red Carpet Event.  Red Ribbon Week will begin on Monday, October 23rd through Friday, October 27th.  Each day will have a special theme and we would love for all students to participate.  Look for this information soon from your homeroom teacher.  On Saturday, October 28th our PTA will host the annual Fall Festival from 10-2.  The Fall Festival committee has been working hard to provide a community event fun for all.  Please come hungry!  There will be plenty of food available for a small cost to feed your family.

This week report cards will come home in the Wednesday folder.  Along with this information, students in grades 3-5 will receive a Scantron - Performance Series parent report.  The following link will provide information to help you interpret the report. (http://www.archwood.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Perf-Ser-Parent-Guide.pdf)  Additional information can be found at www.performanceseries.com.

A HUGE thank you to our PTA for always lifting our faculty and staff up!  Last Friday out PTA brought treats around on a "Happy Cart" to share with our wonderful teachers and staff.  Thank you for always making up feel special!

Reminder - Wednesday, October 25 will be a half day for students.  Students will be dismissed at 11:30.

Have a wonderful week!

Huntsville High School Theatre Posting

Please join us as Huntsville High School Theatre presents Rapunzel!  Rapunzel! A Very Hairy Fairy Tale October 20 - 28 at Huntsville High School Auditorium.
Visit an enchanted fairy tale land with dragons, a handsome prince, an evil would-be Queen, a really great hair stylist, and that famous princess with the long, long, long hair!  Hold on to your hair and prepare for a brand new magical musical re-telling of the classic fairy tale!  On the edge of glory, the evil Lady Za Za determines to rule the kingdom by keeping the beautiful Princess Rapunzel - with the long, long, long hair - trapped in a tower in the deep, dark, dank, dismal, dreary forest.  It'll be up to Sir Roderick and his hair stylist friend Edgar (who is on a quest to find the perfect head of hair) to rescue Princess Rapunzel and restore the kingdom - with the help of a slightly neurotic Gypsy Woman - isn't there one in every fairy tale?  - and a tired, yet witty, old dragon named Socrates who has lost his poof!  With a short run time of approximately 1 hour, this show is suggested for ages 4 and up!
Enjoy a BONUS performance of Broadway Cabaret Night following Rapunzel! on October 20, 26 and 27.
Join us for music and fun as Huntsville High School Theatre presents Broadway Cabaret Night. This show includes a play list of music from Broadway standards delivered in an exciting award-show format. The night includes songs from old favorites ( Guys and Dolls, Les Miserables, and Chicago) while liberally sprinkling in Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber pieces along with new ground-breaking musical numbers that are sure to excite!  Appropriate for ages Middle School and older.
Tickets are available at www.hhspanthertheater.com and atthe Toy Place at 504 Pratt Avenue in Five Points.  Tickets are $10 for Adults and $8 for Students/Seniors/Military.
