News from our Nurse |
A Note from your Nurse
It is our goal for students to attend school every day. However, with the cold and flu season upon us, we would like to remind parents of the policies and guidelines about when to keep your student home:
Fever:
Temperature of 100° or higher. Students must stay home for 24 hours after their temperature has returned to normal without the help of fever-reducing medications such as Motrin (Ibuprofen) or Tylenol (Acetaminophen).
Respiratory:
Keep your child at home if they have a constant cough, productive cough, or wheezing, unless your child has asthma and their asthma related cough and respiratory symptoms are controlled with asthma medications.
Vomiting and Diarrhea:
Students must be free of vomiting and diarrhea for 24 hours from the last episode before returning to school. If they vomit or have diarrhea during the night, they should not return to school that morning.
Healthy Reminders for Students, Parents and Staff:
Wash your hands often with soap and water. Use sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
Cough into the bend of your elbow and not your hand.
Wishing you all a Happy and Healthy New Year!

Hawk-a-thon Fun Run |
Parents! This year's Hawk-a-thon Fun Run is almost here!
It's a 9-day program that kicks off with a Pep Rally on
January 30, 2018
. Families will then gather pledges for every lap your student runs (30-35 laps), and we'll celebrate at the Fun Run on
February 8, 2018
. With our big goal of raising $15,000
for OUR LIBRARY
, we asked the Fun Run experts at Boosterthon to power our Fun Run and make it more profitable, easier, and fun.
Students will also experience an amazing character theme, CASTLE QUEST!
an English castle theme all about being brave and living with character. On their quest to regain Bravemore Castle, students will learn the "SIX VIRTUES of a TRUE HERO" from a cast of colorful characters.
All families are invited to come out and cheer on your student at the Hawk-a-thon Fun Run!
Thank you for your support!

DISNEY AND CAMERON MACKINTOSH'S MARY POPPINS
February 23 - March 3
The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it."
