O Jerusalem, messenger of good news,
shout from the mountaintops!
Shout it louder, O Jerusalem.
Shout, and do not be afraid.
Tell the towns of Judah,
"Your God is coming!"
Yes, the Sovereign Lord is coming in power.
He will rule with a powerful arm.
See, He brings His reward with Him as He comes.
He will feed His flock like a shepherd.
He will carry the lambs in His arms,
holding them close to His heart.
He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.
from Isaiah 40:9-11
There I was, reading Isaiah 40.
Words of comfort.
Words of peace.
Words of prophecy and declaration to God's people, for God's people.
And as I got to those verses, verses 9-11, it was if they were highlighted.
As if God was speaking them directly to me.
My name
substituted for Jerusalem's.
And
your name substituted for the towns of Judah.
And so I speak them to you. I shout them from the mountaintops, loud and without fear:
Your God is coming!
Your Sovereign Lord is coming in power!
The things He has promised you, He
will do!
The things He's spoken to you, He
will accomplish!
So don't give up!
Keep on trusting!
Keep on believing!
Keep on declaring!
Keep on seeing!
Seeing His coming.
Seeing His feeding.
Seeing His leading.
Seeing His loving.
He is for you!
The God of the Universe, your Dad, the High King over all creation is for you!
He is for you.
He is coming.
And He is here.
Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality - faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].
Hebrews 11:1 AMP
Trust [rely on and have confidence] in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and feed [securely] on His faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and petitions of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him also and He will do it. He will make your righteousness [your pursuit of right standing with God] like the light,
and the justice of your cause like [the shining of] the noonday [sun].
from Psalm 37:3-6
