Cigna, Colorado Insurers Team Up to Enhance Behavioral Healthcare

More Hospitals Are Ditching Antibiotics in the Meat They Serve

Food and Drug Administration data shows that 62 percent of antibiotics important for human health are sold to animal producers and used on farms. With 2 million Americans getting infections from antibiotic-resistant bacteria resulting in 23,000 deaths, the need for a higher percentage of antibiotic-free meat products is increasing.

Guide to Preventing Readmissions Among Racially & Ethnically Diverse Medicare Beneficiaries

 

CMS announced a new guide, developed in collaboration with the Disparities Solutions Center at Massachusetts General Hospital and the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) at the University of Chicago as part of the CMS Equity Plan for Improving Quality in Medicare. It is designed to assist hospital leaders and stakeholders focused on quality, safety, and care redesign in identifying root causes and solutions for preventing avoidable readmissions among racially and ethnically diverse Medicare Beneficiaries.
