March 2015

Greetings from Heidrea for Heroes! We are pleased to release this first edition of our quarterly e-newsletter. Each day, we strive to connect with military veterans in need of a helping hand from communities in southeastern Massachusetts. We hope that you will take a few moments to read about who we are and what we do, and be sure to check out our fun upcoming events described below. Most importantly, if you know a veteran who would benefit from the type of support we offer, please share our information and encourage him/her to apply for services.

A Mission to Honor Sacrifice
Sometimes, coming home is just the beginning of another battle
That's why Heidrea for Heroes is committed to serving and supporting veterans in need. Our mission is to provide adaptive housing renovations, vehicle modifications, specialized mobility equipment, workforce training opportunities, and custom veteran/family support that will inspire and motivate veterans and families to move forward. Our military men and women sacrifice a great deal for our country, and we honor their service by giving back to ease challenges and hardships in civilian life.

Project Highlights
New exterior siding & windows  Interior work in progress Wareham, MA
Making a difference, one life at a time
Over the past several months, the team at H4H has been busy expanding our outreach and serving more veterans. Here are a few of the highlights:
  • In November, our VA Wish List Drive resulted in delivering over $800 worth of winter wear, DVDs, and toiletries to patients in VA care in Brockton & Bedford.
  • Just in time for Christmas, a Plymouth Vietnam War veteran returned home from the VA to a newly-installed wheelchair ramp and widened interior doorways to accommodate his wheelchair after an amputation.
  • Blizzard Juno caused severe damage to the Marshfield home of veteran who served in Iraq and H4H was glad to help with computer replacement so she could continue her schooling uninterrupted.
  • Our most comprehensive project continues in Wareham, where we have been underway with a complete home remodel project for a disabled Army veteran. Thanks to the help of The Home Depot, area vendors, and several local tradesmen who have provided their services pro bono, we are well on our way to bringing this veteran back to a comfortable, warm and safe home this Spring. We still have work to do and your donation of any size can help!
