Because of You, Keith Was Saved!

Keith was addicted to heroin. He was ordered by the judge to treatment and selected LCCC because of our reputation in substance abuse treatment. He initially started in the Engagement Group and was then placed with a counselor who "was really hard on him". He "didn't like it but finally listened and is sober today!" In addition to individual counseling, he attended one of LCCC's treatment groups and "learned a lot!".

Keith shares, "I am alive today and would be dead if it weren't for Catholic Charities."

With your partnership and support of LCCC programs, together, we are saving lives. We can't do it without YOU ! Thank you and God Bless!

Substance Abuse Prevention in Livingston County
Students and Adults Needed!

LCCC is the fiduciary of funding for and a member of the Livingston County Community Alliance (LCCA) - a substance abuse prevention coalition in our county. One of the activities is working with the local schools and Karen Bergbower & Assoc. to create youth-led prevention teams with LCCA coordinators. Currently LCCA has the following teams in place: Students Leading Students (SLS)/ Students Taking a New Direction (STAND) and It Stops With Students (ISWS) in Pinckney had their summer kick-off on June 19 th . SLS/STAND/ISWS is always looking for new members. Check out their Facebook page (search: SLS/STAND-It Stops With Students) for upcoming activities, service projects, and events!

Additionally, LCCA is in the process of organizing and implementing the Safe Homes campaign.  A “Safe Home” is a home in which the family or an adult has committed to providing a safe and substance-free environment for their children, and any other youth who spend time there.   Click here to learn more about Safe Homes and to take the pledge to become a Safe Home! There is also a need for additional members on this committee.
