Say Hello to Lev Shalem This Shabbat!
This Shabbat we will be saying goodbye to our old siddur, "Slim" Shalom (circa 1980) and hello to Lev Shalem (circa 2015). Join us as we enter the next phase of Conservative liturgy.

Friday night at 6:30 pm will be our final service using the old books. On Saturday morning at 10 am, we will begin using L ev Shalem.

If you are interested in dedicating or purchasing the new siddurim, return the form below to the BSBI office.

Celebrate Yom Ha'atzmaut with a
"Taste of Israel"

Join us for "A Taste of Israel" as we celebrate the 70th year of the State Israel. Sample an assortment of Israeli cuisine prepared by local chefs who will demonstrate their talents and techniques. The program will begin with an evening minyan at 7:00 to acknowledge our gratitude with special prayers for this joyous holiday. There is no charge for attending, but we request that you RSVP to by April 13th so that our chefs can prepare enough food!

Our guest scholar will be Dr. Pamela Nadell, the Patrick Clendenen Chair in Women's and Gender History and Director of the Jewish Studies Program at American University in Washington, DC. Dr. Nadell’s subject for Shabbat will be “Two Worlds of America’s Jewish Women.”  It’s a very special opportunity to hear a renowned scholar of modern Jewish history. The three parts of Dr Nadell’s presentation - Friday night, Saturday morning, and Saturday after lunch - make up a coherent whole story. We encourage people to come for all three!

While we ask that you register for the meals, the talks are all free and open to all! The Kiddush Luncheon is also free, but please let us know if you plan to attend!

To make your reservation for the Friday evening dinner or to RSVP for the Saturday Luncheon, email Marilyn Lassow at , then send your check, payable to  BSBI Sisterhood , to Marilyn Lassow, 102 Hollister Street, Manchester, CT 06042 by April 16th . Specify whether your choice is chicken or vegetarian dinner. The cost is $22.00 for adults, $10.00 for those under 18.
