Well Spring has finally sprung, the nights are getting lighter and all the new growth, shoots and buds of new possibility can be seen in the natural world.
 
Spring is an exciting time. It energizes us to think about a new direction or opportunity and encourages us to set new intentions.  I will be diving into Spring with enthusiasm for new beginnings and inspiration. 

Let's celebrate this wonderful time of year, give gratitude and bring the  increased awareness which Spring gives us into our Yoga practise.

Why Gentle Yoga?
 
In Gentle Yoga, the movement is slow, each movement is linked with breath, and we enter into the postures gradually.  By encouraging the body to ease open through gentle, longer held postures and deep breath awareness, tension is released. 

Gentle Yoga equally strengthens and stretches, increasing flexibility and repairing muscles that are in need of love and bringing centering and calmness.
 
We have a number of Gentle Yoga classes each week at the Studio:

Gentle Yoga and Yoga Nidra

We also hold two Restorative Yoga classes each month which consist of passive poses, using props to support the body to promote deep relaxation and is a good antidote to stress. The next class takes place on Sunday,  30th April, with Kara.

This workshop looks at the relationship between our emotional F's, Flee, Freeze, Fight and Flight. When are we ever OK, if not now?
 
When we disempower ourselves, we choose to hand our power to other people to help us. From Forrest basics, "tucking the tailbone, telescoping the ribs and expanding the rib cage" to create more freedom in our chest and back, thus allowing us to feel space to choose and change and get our power back! We must know ourselves better than anyone else.
 
Strong Yoga pose sequence leading up to deep backbends will help you to open up the area of the heart.
