Pastor's Letter

March 11, 2016
Dear Friends,
I wonder how many of us know what it feels like to be rejected by others? It can be a painful experience on the playground, or being excluded by "friends" in jr. high. Perhaps a change in leadership at work has transitioned into a "you're in/you're out" environment. For most of us such experiences are temporary; situations change, people change and we are no longer subject to that rejection. But we often remember the pain.
What if you felt that rejection all the time? What if every day you wake up alone, ostracized, feeling you are unable to join in community with others? In today's story, Jesus meets a woman who feels that rejection all the time. How Jesus responds to her is a model for us as we seek to extend Jesus' love to all.
I look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday. Please be in prayer for people who do not have a church home and for how God is calling each of us, at Buckhall United Methodist Church, to reach out to them.
Yours in Christ,
PS The Continue the Legacy small groups have begun and are scheduled throughout March. If you have not yet been contacted and would like to be included in a group, please contact Ann Baker (alhbaker@verizon.net  or 703-209-5423) or Pastor Linda.
