Dear Midas Members and Friends:

The new session begins in Midas's policy work, and we'd like your help.
  • We are supporting our national partners in trying to curb the high-cost/predatory Payday Loans by requesting stronger regulation. Would you and/or your organization be willing to add your name to a statewide letter requesting a limitation in these practices? Although these high-cost loans are technically illegal in Massachusetts, we know that Mass residents are getting these loans from other states and via the internet, so national action is needed. If so, please email us and provide your name and/or your organization's name.
  • In Massachusetts, we are supporting Question 4 to allow employees access to earned sick time. Many people don't realize that many low-wage workers lose their pay and/or their jobs if they stay home to get well or care for their children. This is a profound barrier to their financial stability, as the Globe editorial pointed out. Please vote yes on Question 4 next Tuesday! For more information, visit RaiseUpMass.
  • Midas is always circling back with its members for input and collaborative networking. Midas members: Please complete this 5 minute survey to share more of your concerns, strengths, and needs.  We are greater than the sum of our parts.
Thank you,

The Midas Team
