Help Us Keep Families Strong, Supported and Hopeful
Matthew and his cousins

Meet Matthew Yancy, an 18 year-old college freshman and a dedicated athlete. Earlier this year, Matthew was injured in a driving accident that resulted in a severe loss of mobility and motor skills. Matthew and his family were forced to cope with both the medical crisis and its financial complications. Matthew and his family looked to HelpHOPELive to initiate effective community-based fundraising, armed with a secret weapon: Matthew's uncle, Pete.

Pete stepped up to the plate for Matthew's family and spearheaded his fundraising campaign, taking charge of communicating with Matthew's donors and helping the family to raise enough money to put Matthew on the path to recovery. When Matthew graduated high school in May, he was able to stand up from his wheelchair and walk to receive his diploma. Thanks to the generous support of benefactors like you, Matthew was able to receive the rehabilitation he needed and is back to swimming, playing soccer and finishing up his first semester at college.

" We are so thankful for all that he has accomplished so far and truly believe he is a miracle."  - Lorri, Matthew's mom

Matthew and his family are just one of the 2,700 patients HelpHOPELive works with annually to provide quality, personalized fundraising support.
