OCTOBER NEWS FROM YOUR LOCAL UNITED WAY
Our Community. Your United Way.

We are pleased to announce that our Society of Emerging Leaders (SEL) is partnering with Bright Futures Frederick County for a Crockpot Drive November 14th-December 2nd.

Childhood food insecurity is real and you can help! Did you know children from 400 local families are currently being served by Bright Futures Frederick County may not have food over the weekend without their support?  We didn't just want to do a food drive...we wanted to take it one step further - a crock pot is more than just a crock pot it's a warm meal, a way to cook, the ability to stretch a dollar and become more sustainable.  See our website for more information

Our goal is to collect 400 crockpots - one for each family!

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Set up a d
rop off location - be featured in our marketing materials as a crock pot drop off location. No cost to you! Reach out to us and we can help you get set up!

Host a drive at your workplace - Encourage your friends and coworkers to get together over the holidays and give back in this unique way, the drive is over the Black Friday so there should be lots of great deals out there! See our current list of donation sites here.

Take our social media challenge - Could you live on a SNAP (food stamps) budget??
See our website for details and take the challenge!

THANK YOU to VALLEY HEALTH who agreed to donate the FIRST 100 crockpots! THANK YOU to NV Daily who will be running an ad for us!
