October 2016
Water restrictions ended Sept. 30
Centennial Water's outdoor water restrictions came to an end last week. The mandatory restrictions are enforced May 1 through Sept. 30 each year to help stop inefficient use of water resources. In addition, your outdoor water budget allocation ends the third week in October.

Despite the end of water restrictions, it is always a good idea to practice water efficiency both inside and outside the home.
  • Plant in the fall and spring when watering requirements are lower.
  • Water plants deeply, but less frequently, to encourage deep root growth and drought tolerance.
  • Run your dishwasher only when it is full.
  • While washing your hands, turn the water off while you lather.

Last chance to help write vision for  future of High Line Canal

The High Line Canal Conservancy has engaged with more than 2,000 people over the past several months to help draft the future vision and plan for the 71-mile long High Line Canal. The Canal travels through Highlands Ranch, along our trail system passing by the historic Fly'n B Park. Do you have thoughts on the canal's future uses and the surrounding areas?

The High Line Canal Conservancy is hosting three final open houses to get citizen input. They will share strategies for implementing the community-developed vision for the Canal and want to hear your ideas and priorities as well.

Renovation of entry medians on University and Broadway
Medians at University Blvd. and Broadway community entries are currently being renovated to provide a more cohesive and vibrant design. Work began last week with the removal of about 30 trees. The trees had been dying or in decline for several years and after the careful assessment by Metro District staff, the decision was made not to incorporate them into the new design.

Renovation plans include new trees and landscaping, updating the lettering and logo on the stone monuments and pouring new concrete.

Renovations will cause intermittent lane closures between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Weather permitting, work should be complete by the end of the year.
