We’re currently working on securing this beautiful facility in Harwichport to become our home base of operations. We’re thrilled to have found such an ideal place to share with children and families, educators and providers!
This attractive building would serve as an inviting home-like place for families to spend time playing and learning together throughout the year.

Lending Library Collection

This building will allow us to incorporate educational play spaces, a play therapy room, meeting spaces and a lending library of educational toys and resource materials including child development reference books and information for parents, educators, and providers. A large muscle, physically active play space and an outdoor play area are also envisioned.

A "Reggio inspired" environment
|
A "Reggio-inspired" environment such as this is envisioned. Based on an educational approach from Italy, it will include lots of natural light and authentic materials. The Cape Cod Toy Library environment will give children access to a wide variety of materials to explore and build foundational learning experiences in science, math, engineering, literacy, creative/expressive arts and more.

Community Presentations
Community presentations across the Cape have served to help people better understand what a Toy Library is and what’s envisioned for Cape Cod Toy Library! Our photo power point slides help tell the story – it can be shown on a big screen for a large group or simply on a laptop for small groups.
We welcome invitations to present at staff or community meetings, Rotary/Kiwanis or book clubs, parent or grand-parent groups. We especially appreciate these opportunities to gain in-person feedback to learn more about how we can best serve the Cape community.

Toy Donations …
When you clean your closets for the New Year …
Keep Cape Cod Toy Library in mind for toys, books, and household items to donate this winter and spring!
Toys and books – that you no longer need will help build the Cape Cod Toy Library collection for community use on-site and for the lending library for families, childcare providers, educators and community providers.
We’ll soon be accepting donations of:
· Toys/Play materials appropriate for infants through school age children
· Children’s Books and Parenting Books about child development, etc.
· Household items e.g. plastic bins/containers, kitchenware, tools, etc.
· Furnishings such as shelving, tables, chairs
· Décor accessories such as baskets, wooden bowls, holiday decorations

Volunteers are building the foundation for Cape Cod Toy Library! Volunteer time invested in planning for Cape Cod Toy Library, Inc. already totals 3,400 hours. Every hour makes a difference, even a few minute of advice moves us forward!
As the Nigerian proverb says, "It takes a whole village to raise a child." It indeed takes the whole village to fully support children and families! Creating Cape Cod Toy Library, Inc. for the whole community, by the whole community, will strengthen the whole community.
Many volunteers are needed to help with preparations for CCTL start-up. Immediate needs include database entry, marketing, writing/editing, grant writing, planning fundraising events, and staffing "CCTL - Play in Action" events.

Born and raised on the Cape and a recent graduate of the University of Vermont. Cady combined her passions with a degree in public communications as well as course work in education. And, her student teaching experience was in a Reggio-Emilia inspired childcare center! When Cady learned of the Cape Cod Toy Library she enthusiastically saw the opportunity to share her passions. Cady plans to help in whatever ways she can with immediate needs as well as supporting CCTL marketing and communications indefinitely. Cady’s thoughtful, creative talents have made a tremendous difference in developing our communication documents!

A Cape Cod native with deep ties to the Cape community. Dawn attended Harwich High School and then St. Louis University on a field hockey scholarship. Dawn has an MBA in Marketing and Masters in Human Resource Management. Dawn’s 20 years in Management has given her opportunities to support global teams and manage diverse groups, oversee commercial construction projects, and provide creative support including marketing. In the midst of balancing entrepreneurship building a family cleaning business, Cape Cod Turnovers, LLC, and her role as a mother, Dawn’s passion for education and mentoring led her to jump in to contribute time to Cape Cod Toy Library's development. Dawn’s expertise and energy have significantly strengthened CCTL’s foundation and path forward toward success!
