Sustainable Schools at Work
MLK Day Cleanup: Squalicum Beach Park
The Sustainable Schools team partnered up with the Clean Water team to clean up Squalicum Beach Park in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Thanks to our lovely volunteers, we gathered over 30 pounds of garbage and 25 pounds of recyclable waste. A special thanks to the Community Food Co-Op and the  Mount Bakery Cafe for supplying us with coffee and yummy snacks to keep us nourished during the cleanup!

Litter Cleanup: Northern Heights 3rd Grade
Committed 3rd graders at Northern Heights Elementary braved the wind and rain to pick up over 30 pounds of litter around their school. Students chose this project after learning that water conservation not only means saving water from being wasted, but also protecting water from pollution and litter. These students have also taken a pledge to turn off the faucet while they scrub their hands with soap. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication!
