Meet Helping Children Worldwide's summer interns
We are grateful to have three very talented and dedicated interns joining us this summer!
Lacy McCleskey, a returning intern from last summer, has one year remaining in a Master's degree in Special Education at the University of Virginia. "
My favorite thing about working at HCW is being able to feel connected to the community in Bo, even while I'm here in Virginia, " Lacy says. "I wanted to do meaningful work during my two months at home before starting my student teaching and HCW seemed like the perfect place to do that.
Sam Bundren, also a UVA student, is a rising senior majoring in psychology. "The thing I appreciate the most about working at Helping Children Worldwide is getting hands on experience with global public health concepts and issues. After visiting the CRC and Mercy, it makes me feel like I know exactly what my work here is going towards," Sam explained.
Naomi Rabago is a rising junior at James Madison University, majoring in communications studies with a minor in nonprofit studies. "I'm interning at HCW because I'm inspired by the work they do, and I'm grateful to be able to learn from these incredible leaders," Naomi says. "I want to have a career in the nonprofit sector, and doing the hands-on behind the scenes work here is really great experience."
