"I have post traumatic stress disorder and anxiety. Getting out of my apartment is a challenge at the best of times."

- Family Health Team Patient

The 2013 Freedom 55 Charity Golf Classic raised funds to help provide bus passes and gas cards for patients to get to their appointments.
"The fact that we are able to provide patients with financial help for transportation so they can receive the assistance of our mental health clinicians is life changing. A $10 gas card can make a world of difference"
- Lori Richey, Director of Operations, Primary Health Care Services

Thanks to funds raised by the Health Services Foundation, patients can receive help with transportation to ensure they get to counselling appointments or group therapy.

"I have a phobia about using the bus and with my limited income, I can't afford a bus pass to get where I need to go. With the help I receive from my mental health clinician I now attend an anxiety and depression group. The bus pass helps me get to the sessions,  and now I'm using the bus almost every day. It still stresses me out but it's getting easier every day.

I wouldn't have been able to come as far as I have without this help. I used to go days or even weeks without leaving my apartment and now I'm going out almost every single day, which is huge for me. Thank you for helping me so very much!"
