Herb Lemcool Honored with Distinguished Service Award
One need not look far in the Grand Traverse area to find a person, group or organization helped out by Herb Lemcool, the Chamber's 2016  Distinguished Service Award honoree. This retired businessman, Boy Scout leader, National Cherry Festival cornerstone and long-time public servant has literally touched thousands of lives in the region through his tireless community service, leadership and infectious positive attitude.   Learn more  about this year's DSA recipient.

Chamber/Alliance Support Senate Energy Bills
Northern Michigan residents and businesses need access to affordable, reliable energy sources, something that can't be compromised to benefit a handful of large-scale energy users around the state. Alliance Crafts 2017 Legislative Agenda
Looking forward to 2017, the Northern Michigan Chamber Alliance gathered in Traverse City last Friday to begin work on the top legislative priorities at the state and federal levels for the coming year.
"We got a lot of good feedback on what we should be working on," Government Relations Director Kent Wood said.

Registration Opens for Annual Celebration
Registration is now open for the Chamber's Annual Celebration. Join us for this special evening on January 20, 2017 at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa to honor and celebrate our region's business community.
The Annual Celebration is from 6 - 10 p.m. and is being revamped with a fresh look and feel to include:
  • Live entertainment during the evening
  • Improved food and beverage service for an enhanced customer experience
  • A special program to honor our 2016 Distinguished Service Award recipient Herb Lemcool.
  • A post-event reception at the resort's top-floor Aerie lounge.

The Chamber's wide range of leadership development programs includes the  CEO Roundtable . It targets chief executives and small business owners for facilitated discussions to share business ideas, techniques and other information in a non-competitive setting.  Some of the region's top business leaders and consultants participate in the CEO Roundtable in structured discussion groups to talk about challenges and opportunities in the region's business landscape.
