Elijah & Jesus: Paradigms & Parallels
Thursdays, May 4, 11 & 18
Led by Rabbi Hirsh
We will look at the stories of Elijah in the Bible and rabbinic writings and then read the Jesus stories from the New Testament. We will discuss ways in which shared as well as divergent teachings about Elijah and Jesus shape the ways Judaism and Christianity come to their teachings on the concept of "the Messiah." While these 3 sessions tie together, every session can also stand alone.

Despite the horrors Helen Reider endured as a Holocaust Survivor, she persevered, spurred forward by her father's last words to her: "Someone in this family must survive and tell the world what happened here."
