Being a Crosby Scholar is Easy as 1, 2, 3...

As a Crosby Scholar in the Middle School Program - 6th, 7th, and 8th grade - you are expected to complete just three (3) requirements each year:

1. Attend one (1) Crosby Scholars Academy each school year. Registration is required in the Crosby Scholars Student or Parent Portal.

2. Complete and submit two (2) hours of community service by April 24th, 2024.

3. Avoid receiving Out-of-School Suspension.

Visit your Crosby Scholars Student or Parent Portal for more details. The portal is your main resource to stay up to date with all programs and events offered by the Program. Make sure to log in regularly for event registration, requirement completion status, and contact information updates.

2024 Middle School Must-Knows: Program Essentials

Happy New Year 2024! We are so excited to start the year with you and look forward to all of your upcoming achievements. We want to help you every step of the way and provide you with the best resources and information for your future.

One of the ways we are committed to your success is by providing you with informational workshops to further develop your skills, and asking you to participate in community service. By completing these requirements you will not only continue to stay active in the Program and enjoy our many perks, but grow both educationally and personally!

Crosby Scholars must complete all requirements to receive a certificate of completion, be invited to spring and summer campus visits, and end of year celebrations.

⭐ Attend one (1) in-person OR virtual Academy.

Academies are workshops that help prepare students and develop their academic and interpersonal skills. They are offered both in-person and virtually via Zoom.

Registration is required in the Crosby Scholars Student or Parent Portal. These sessions end in January.

⭐ Complete two (2) hours of community service by April 24th, 2024.

Scholars must submit a form – either online or via a paper copy to document their hours to complete this requirement for Crosby Scholars. Community Service may not be performed at for-profit organizations or businesses.

Looking Ahead in the Program

The Junior/Senior Team talked about expectations and perks for students in the Program in their last two years of high school. We also heard your feedback regarding current middle school programming.

Choices in High School

(8th Grade Parents)

Registration for the 2024-25 school year will begin in February/March. We hosted a parent information session for rising 9th graders about available enrollment choices for high school.

Healthy Eating and Kitchen Skills for Teens

Second and fourth Tuesdays from 5-6:30 p.m. 

Tuesday, Jan. 9 from 5-6:30 p.m.: Vegetarian Rice Paper Rolls 

Tuesday, Jan. 23 from 5-6:30 p.m.: Vegetarian Chili

Ages 12-18. Learn about kitchen safety and healthy recipes from professional chef Floyd Davis. No experience in the kitchen needed. Registration and program waivers are required. If you have allergies or food restrictions, please let us know when you register so we will be able to accommodate them. Email Mia Jordan ([email protected]) to register.
