Weekly Cornerstone Blog
on the New City Catechism

In an effort to make our year through the New City Catechism as fruitful and helpful as possible, some of our pastors and elders are writing a weekly blog to provide additional insights and explanation on the question for that week.

It includes the question and answer, the kids' answer, the accompanying memory verse, additional verses to consider on that question, some commentary on life application, and a connection to our church's statement of faith.

29th Annual Conference

"Does the Bible Really Speak to...?"

Friday evening, May 4, 6:30 pm
Saturday, May 5 8:30 am to 4:00 pm
@ Cornerstone Community Church

Does the Bible really speak to depression? Anger? Anxiety? Gender confusion? Demonic activity? Church conflicts? Hoarding? Hyper-sexualization? Difficult marriages? YES!
The Bible is sufficient and robust and it's all we need to counsel non-organic problems.

The topics in this conference are important for every believer, not just counselors.  Pick up a brochure on the information table at the rear of the Worship Center.

Election hospitality

Tuesday, May 8

Once again, we have a unique opportunity to demonstrate love and hospitality to our neighbors on Tuesday, May 8th. As you know, we are a voting location for our area, and as we have done before, we want to go the extra mile and offer free freshly-baked cookies and coffee to those who come and vote. We will bake some in advance, but we will be baking them in our church kitchen all day. If you can help by baking in advance or baking and manning a table for some part of the day please sign up here.

4 Helpful Resources

We are pleased to announce several new resources we are offering to help ground us in some of the foundations of our faith - for adults and children: The New City Catechism.

FLIP BOOK:   $5.00
This is a spiral-bound flip book that includes the 52 questions and answers including a shortened kid's answer along with the Scripture reference.
Includes the 52 questions and answers including the highlighted kid's answer along with the Scripture written out.
A weekly devotional includes the 52 questions and answers, relevant Scripture reading, a short prayer, and devotional commentary written by contemporary pastors and historical figures.
Web and Mobile app are available for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices (free at or on the associated app stores). The app pairs each question and answer with a Scripture reading, a short prayer, and a devotional commentary written by contemporary and historical figures. The app also includes kid-friendly songs designed to help children memorize the entire catechism.

Our Mission

Our mission as a church is very simple and it comes directly from Jesus. Jesus gave the Church her mission in the "Great Commission" in Matthew 28:19-20. It defines why we exist as a church:

To glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ
