Episcopal Youth Event Set for Next Week

The Rev. Dwayne Varas commissions Liz Williams and Jason Stockstill 
EYE17 - the 2017 Episcopal Youth Event -- will welcome more than 1,300 youth, adult mentors, workshop leaders, speakers and volunteers from across the Episcopal Church to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma July 10-14--and the Diocese of Georgia will be well represented! EYE17 is being held in partnership with the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma on the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond.

Weather Hits Honey Creek's Technology
This past weekend's weather had an adverse effect on Honey Creek's telephones, computers and printers. Direct all phone calls to Diocesan House and email Dade Brantley at [email protected] with any other communication needs until repairs are completed. 
OSH Holds Life Profession
The Order of Saint Helena (OSH) is pleased to anno unce the upcoming Life Profession of Sister Miriam Elizabeth (Faith E. Bledsoe) on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 5 PM. The convent is located at 414 Savannah Barony Dr, North Augusta, SC. A reception will follow the liturgy. Guests are asked to RSVP by email: [email protected] or by phone: 803-426-1616. While the guest house is full for this event, there is a small block of hotel rooms available for guest reservations.

OSH is an Episcopal monastic order for lay and ordained women living communally under a vow of monastic poverty, celibate chastity and obedience to God. They live to show forth Christ through a life of monastic prayer, hospitality and service. The order's guest house is available for individual and small group retreats. Find out more at www.osh.org. 
Around the Diocese
St. Margaret of Scotland Episcopal Church hosted a meal for 35 counselors from Camp Winshape who also utilized the sanctuary for a service afterwards.

Prayers for Weekly Liturgies
Our one-year prayer cycle combines prayers for every congregation in the Diocese of Georgia with prayers for our ecumenical partners and for our Companion Diocese of The Dominican Republic. The 52 weekly prayers are available in one document  found here. 

July 2 - 8
In our diocesan cycle of prayer, we pray for our congregation in Pooler, St. Patrick's. We also pray for our ecumenical partners, especially Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Garden City and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Port Wentworth. In our companion diocese of the Dominican Republic, we pray for San Timoteo, (St. Timothy's Church) in Nizao.

July 9 - 15
In our diocesan cycle of prayer, we pray for our congregation in Richmond Hill, St. Elizabeth of Hungary. We also pray for our ecumenical partners in Richmond Hill, especially Spirit of Peace Lutheran Church and St. Anne's Catholic Church. In our companion diocese of the Dominican Republic, we pray for San Juan Evangelista ( St. John the Evangelist) in Piedra Blanca.

Canon Logue is on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne today ending a Pilgrimage on St. Cuthbert's Way. On Sunday, he and Victoria begin the Walkabouts for the Bishop Search in the Diocese of East Tennessee which are from July 9-14.

The Rev. Charles Todd of the Collegiate Church of St. Paul the Apostle, Savannah, will officiate at the 12 noon Thursday service in the Chapel of St. George at Diocesan House.
