Paying it Forward
A Quarterly Newsletter of the Caring Community Foundation
Issue 2 - Volume 1 - November 2015

Welcome! The Caring Community Foundation would like to take the opportunity to share with you some of the new and exciting things we are doing in OUR community and the patients YOUR support impacts. This is our quarterly newsletter capturing the past, present and future of the Caring Community Foundation. Thank you for your continued support as we alleviate financial stress and burdens for cancer patients in need.

CCF Patients Served

The money you donate to the Caring Community Foundation goes directly to patients being treated in YOUR community! These funds support needs such as rent/mortgage, utilities, transportation to and from treatment and much more!

Here are some of the patients YOU have recently provided immediate help:

  • A 7-year-old girl with Liver Cancer. The patient has undergone three liver transplants. Her father passed away several years ago and her mother is now raising the patient and her sister alone. The patient's cancer has recently been deemed "incurable" and she is receiving hospice care in the home. Her mother requested $205 for rent and $71 for a utility bill.
  • A 72-year-old female with Breast Cancer. The patient is currently undergoing chemo and radiation treatments. She is supporting her daughter and four grandchildren. The patient is under great financial stress due to traveling to Chapel Hill for treatment. The patient requested $235 for a pharmacy bill and $550 for a final payment towards her electric wheelchair.
  • A 29-year-old male with advanced Lymphoma. He had to stop working in the cotton mill and now has no source of income. The patient requested $241 for a car payment and $233 for a car insurance payment.
  • A 66-year-old male with Kidney Cancer. He requires nephrectomy, the removal of both of his kidneys. The patient requested $90 for three nights of lodging at the Caring House.
  • A 43-year-old female with Gallbladder Cancer. She has two kids and is unable to work with no insurance coverage. The patient requested $162 for a utility bill.

We now offer alternative donation options: Donor advised funds, stocks and trusts.

Words from Our Patients

Each month we receive thank you notes from patients supported by CCF. Below are actual words of gratitude expressed by people YOU have helped.

"Thank you so much for your recent contribution to help with my living expenses while I undergo cancer treatment. I would not have made it this far without the kindness of people like you and your organization."

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your financial gift. There are not enough words to express how grateful I am for your kindness."

"Thank you for your generous gift and donation to help our daughter with her October rent payment. We are very grateful and thankful for this blessing. You have helped to relieve some of the burdens and stresses of trying to cope with a diagnosis, time away from work and the need to keep all the bills paid. We are encouraged by your generous gift. We greatly appreciate it, more than you will ever know!"
