  • Increase STEM and computer science education, apprenticeships and industry partnerships;
  • Develop Career and Technical Education and STEM career pathways; and
  • Encourage employers to partner with colleges and universities.

Governor Wolf said, "It's wonderful to see the incredible work being done here at New Century Careers, connecting people with the skills they need to get meaningful careers in the manufacturing industry-one of Pennsylvania's most critical industries."

M2K Student Spotlight
Taking a welding class sparked Donna’s interest in machining and a career in the trades. She joined the M2K program in September 2017.

“I’ve gotten so much out of this training. It was an amazing experience,” she said, noting that the hands-on component of training and job placement assistance were especially valuable.

“Because it's free training, you’re getting an education without having to worry about loans or the stress of paying for it," Donna said. She added, "How much effort you put into the program is what you'll get out of it, and as long as you have a positive attitude, come in every day and try your best, instructors will help you and you’ll easily pick up whatever material [they teach.]”
NCC Staff Spotlight
Director of Services Neil Ashbaugh
When Neil Ashbaugh was hired by NCC in 2016, he brought with him 20 years of precision manufacturing experience.

Neil has a unique blend of skills and experience. After college graduation, he completed a 3 ½ year State and Federally-recognized Apprenticeship and became a Journeyman Grinder.
