John
worked for 13 years in drafting and had metalworking experience from a shop class during high school. After speaking with a former M2K student, John thought the training program would be a great fit. He joined in July 2017 and was eager to learn.
"Even though I had manual experience from my high school's manufacturing class, I wanted to learn CNC and have that experience too," John said.
John's favorite project was a lion head he created out of aluminum.
"I saw something similar to it on TV, and decided I wanted to make it. Once I figured out the workflow and the specifics of Autodesk Fusion 360, it took roughly 24 hours to make over a week's time span."
In June, John accepted a CNC position with a local company.
"M2K exposed me to more of the precision aspects that will be required on the job," he said. "I look forward to starting my new position and I hope to one day join an apprenticeship program."
Congratulations John!
