M2K Student Spotlight
Before Brian joined the program, he worked sorting packages for a home security company. Seeking a stable career that would harness his creativity, he joined M2K in May 2017. The best part of the program for Brian was realizing his ability to learn a new set of skills at the age of 48. In addition, he said, “M2K helped me overcome obstacles that would have kept me from obtaining a profitable career. I didn’t know that I could overcome these obstacles. I didn’t realize it was more about persistence and attitude…that choices or mistakes I made in the past didn’t have to define me in order to get this job.” Brian was determined to finish training despite the difficulty of working overnight shifts at his logistics job.

In December of 2018, he was hired as an entry-level materials handler at a local manufacturer, a position offering full benefits. His next step, he hopes, will be to move into the manual milling section. “I’m excited for this next step, this door in my life – I didn’t expect it, but it’s amazing. I would never have gotten here if it wasn’t for New Century Careers. The training it gives is exceptional.”

Congratulations, Brian and good luck!
