TIA CHUCHA'S CENTRO CULTURAL & BOOKSTORE

Campaign Success!

Tía Chucha's Centro Cultural is proud to announce our successful completion of the "Arts Transforms Communities" campaign. From August to November 2011, staff, volunteers, board members, and community members worked diligently and creatively to raise funds to match a grant awarded to Tia Chucha's by the Los Angeles County Arts Commission. This call to action required Tia Chucha's to raise $10,000 towards a book and film project documenting the cultural and art history of the Northeast San Fernando Valley. By the end of November, Tia Chucha's not only reached it's goal, it surpassed it. The total amount raised was $11,397 - something that could not have happened without the effort of the local community and its champions. We thank you all deeply for your support and look forward to sharing the final book and DVD with you and other communities across the nation when it becomes available in May of 2012.

Peace,
From all of us at Tia Chucha's
