The Board of Directors of RALSC requests your nominations for the 2017 Special Awards: REALTOR® of the Year, Affiliate of the Year, Rookie of the Year® and the Honor Society. All applications are due by November 10th.

The REALTOR® of the Year award honors the Broker or Sales Associate that has contributed not only to the Association, but to their colleagues, the real estate profession and to their community. The recipients activities cannot be for just one year, but they are cumulative over their real estate career.

The Affiliate of the Year award honors the real-estate-related organization, as well as the organization's contact, that has contributed their time and efforts to the Association and the community. Nominations may be placed by any REALTOR® or Affiliate Member of RALSC.

The Rookie of the Year® award honors the real estate Sales Associate that has listed and sold the most within the first year of being licensed in real estate and holding membership in RALSC. The individual's Broker can submit the application or the individual can submit the application on their own.

The Honor Society award is given to an individual that has participated in RALSC, Florida Realtors® and National Association of REALTORS® activities. The individual has also participated in civic, political, and cultural organizations which benefit the community. Individuals applying into the Honor Society will need to have earned 50 points of the required 100 points in RALSC events/activities.

Attention ActiveKey Users

As a reminder, the REALTOR® Association of Lake & Sumter has discontinued the leasing and support of the Supra ActiveKEY (example shown).

Members who currently have ActiveKEY service will need to return their device to RALSC and transition to the eKEY service by December 14, 2017; however, a sooner-the-better approach is recommended due to limited appointment times and to avoid the last-minute rush. This applies to ONLY the ActiveKey, not the eKey on your phone/device.

You are eligible to receive a refund for the remaining amount of your lease provided you return your ActiveKEY to RALSC. Members who have lost or misplaced their ActiveKey may be subject to Supra's lost key fee.

'Living Legend' made numerous contributes to Lake County

Long-time Association member, Catherine Hanson, of Catherine Hanson Real Estate, was recently honored for her contributions to Lake County.

Catherine Hanson served as a county commissioner for 16 years, from 1990 to 2006. She co-founded the East Lake County Chamber of Commerce and served on the boar...ds of North Lake Hospital, Hospice, United Way of Lake and Sumter and East Lake Library. “I never had any aspiration to go into politics, but I held my seat for 16 years. I felt that my job while there was to make good decision and be innovative," Hanson said.

The RALSC Leadership Development Program offers an opportunity to learn how the Association operates. Many of these same principles that guide the volunteer leadership and staff of our organization can be applied to how you run your business.

Graduates of the Leadership Program will be equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to excel as a Leader of the REALTORS® Association of Lake & Sumter Counties.

Only 8 candidates will be selected to participate in the program.
