Dear Friends,

So much is happening!

After exotic travel and the publication of more of my translations this summer, I'm heading back on the road.  From New York to California, from Quebec to Florida, I'll be crisscrossing the continent in the coming months to talk about The Bible Doesn't Say That and my other work, staring with Oklahoma City this week and Florida next week.

Though my schedule is packed for the fall, I may be able to add an event if I'm already going to be in your area, so I've listed a selection of my upcoming destinations below.

And now's the time to be in touch to plan something for 2017.  (People in warm climates:  I'm saving a few dates in January and February for you!)

All of this comes after an exciting summer that had me teaching on my sixth continent, thanks to appearances in Melbourne and Sydney, Australia.  (I'm trying to collect the complete set, so if you know of any Russian scientists in Antarctica who might like to end six months of experiments with some insight into the Bible, can you please put me in touch?)

I'm thrilled to be heading out again.  And I'm looking forward to returning to familiar destinations and to experiencing new ones.

Travel Spotlight:  Australia!
This travel spotlight comes from Australia, conveniently located just two flights --- fifteen hours and then ten hours --- away.   I spent an amazing two weeks there, then not enough time in New Zealand and a surprise 14 hours in China.

I'm posting my travel impressions as time permits on my fiction author blog.  I'd love to know your reactions.  In the meantime, here are two more travel shots:

I tend to post my photos on Instagram and 500px.  Why not follow me?

Encountering God
Encountering God
This summer also saw the publication of the 7th book in the "Days of Awe" series:  Encountering God:  El Rachum V'chanun --- God Merciful and Gracious. Once again, I served as translator, this time offering a modern and carefully annotated translation of the famous Thirteen Attributes that feature prominently in Exodus and in the High Holiday liturgy.  The book is also packed with insightful essays from a wide variety of authors.  Take a look!
