Hickory Knolls is home to many animals that have been rescued. Bring a stuffed animal friend to meet some of the animals that call the Discovery Center home and then play along with a pretend check-up for your stuffed friend.

Due to concerns over emerald ash borer, Kane County is under a State of Illinois firewood quarantine. Firewood may be delivered only to addresses within Kane County.  

*A face cord is a 4' by 8' stack of approximately
220 pieces of 14"-18" in length.
Guided Programs: 1 hour, $50/15 scouts,

Self-Guided Programs:
$15 for 1-day use of
curriculum and materials, used on- or off-site

The Hickory Knolls Discovery Center is a 10,500 sq. ft. building featuring a spacious lobby that soars more than 20 feet in height, with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame views of the oak savanna just outside the doors. A wide range of attractions appeal to visitors of all ages including live animal displays, interactive floor-to-ceiling murals, indoor turtle pond and wetland exhibit, and more.
