ANTHONY AND HIS FAMILY NEED OUR HELP

Anthony is a miracle child. He was born with X-linked MTM1 and he was not supposed to live past the age of one (doctors said he only had a week at the most). But now it's his 15th birthday and has beaten all the odds that were against him.
Mentally, Anthony is such a strong, confident young man who continues to inspire people every day of his life. We thank God every day for Anthony and the love he has for others. He is the sweetest, funniest teenager anyone could ever meet.
Anthony needs a handicap van to be transported to his daily activities and all his doctor appointments. Unfortunately, the family has not had much luck with the ones they had. There has been ongoing problem with both vans they had for Anthony. The cost to keep repairing them and or to purchase a new one is something the family isn't capable of doing on their own unfortunately.
Anthony has been recently diagnosed with scoliosis in his back and neck. His levels are too high to ignore so they need to do a 12 hour surgery asap. The family has met a doctor from Columbia, CT who will perform his surgery mid November.
There is a 6 months recovery period which means that Anthony & his parents will need to get back and forth to the hospital for checkups. The hospital is a little over an hour for the family to drive one way. Anthony & the family need a vehicle that is dependable & new !
