Guided Walking Tour
South of Catawba with Ghostly Tales

The Cornelius Historic Preservation Commission will conduct a guided walking tour, South of Catawba with Ghostly Tales, on Sunday, October 27 at 5:00 PM.

 

The starting point for this tour, which is approximately 1.25 miles, is in front of Town Hall (21445 Catawba Avenue). Along the way you will learn about when and how the Town was incorporated, walk by Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and its cemeterysee local historic landmark designations, Olde Mill Village, Gem Yarn Mill, our Town's remaining cotton gin, the history of Cornelius Elementary and other sites of interest. 

 

The Historic Preservation Commission invites everyone to participate in this tour to learn more about the rich history of Cornelius. The tour will last approximately 1 � - 2 hours. 

 

The walking tour promotes the work of historic preservation, encourages exercise suitable for the entire family, educates townspeople, students, and visitors about the evolution of Cornelius, encourages activity in our town center, and introduces walkers to businesses along the walking route.
