"Thanks so much for picking my name to come here.
It's my dream come true."
2018 USA Games
Another exciting day of competition and fun in Seattle!
Here are just a few highlights from today's sports...
"The 2018 Special Olympics USA Games will showcase the abilities of athletes with intellectual disabilities, promote the ideals of acceptance and inclusion through sport, and celebrate the transformative power of Special Olympics."

Beth Knox, President and CEO, USA Games
Yesterday swimming athlete Sarah Haugen picked up the first women's gold medal of 2018 USA Games in the 200m freestyle. Today Shawn Kiefer and Eric Anderson both took first place in the 100m breaststroke. We have some champion swimmers on Team Minnesota!
On the track, Alex Mercier is bringing home a gold in his 800M run division! We were there to capture his award-winning race, and we're happy to share the excitement.
Under the guidance of coach Corinne Schattschneider , our entire gymnastics team-- Sarah Kramer , Ellen Maguire , Tasha Feigh and Jenny Anderson --earned some serious hardware today. We're so proud of these amazing women!
Meanwhile our bocce athletes are rocking and rolling at singles and team competitions all week. Looks like their trading pin game is going strong, too!
Finally, we love seeing our fans in the stands ! All that cheering makes our attempts feel extra rewarding. Thanks for supporting Team Minnesota athletes, Unified Partners and coaches--it means the world to us.
Stay tuned!
