Mayor Brian Snedecor to Present State of the City Address at May's Luncheon

 

Hobart Mayor Brian Snedecor will present the State of the City Address on May 22nd at the County Line Orchard at 1pm.  The luncheon runs in conjunction with our Business Expo.  The cost of the luncheon is $20 per person.  If you are a vendor in our Expo, one lunch ticket is included (two if you participated in the early-bird special).

Bottles & Brushes Ribbon Cuttung                                

 

Join us on Tuesday, May 13th, as we welcome new members Brushes & Bottles to the community!  Have you seen those really fun painting parties?  That's what Brushes & Bottles is all about!  Come out on May 13th at noon for the ribbon cutting, light refreshments, and to see all the beautiful paintings!  Brushes & Bottles is located at 5118 East US 30, Merrillville (right next to Razor's Edge, in front of Service Doctor.)

                 

 

Outstanding Educators Awards to be Presented at HHS
May 15th, 2014

The Hobart Chamber of Commerce and the School City of Hobart Educational Foundation are proud to sponsor the 20th Annual Outstanding Educators Awards. These awards recognize educators from the elementary, middle, and high school levels who have made exceptional contributions and exemplary commitment to their profession and students.
 
There will be a dinner at the Hobart High School on Thursday, May 15th, at 5:30pm in the Board Room.  Following the dinner, the following teachers will be recognized with an award:
  • Elementary School (tie) -- Trisha Carrillo, Early Learning Center at George Earle and Jill Cruz, Early Learning Center at George Earle
  • Middle School (tie) -- Phyllis Nimetz and David Grabczak
  • High School -- Michael Black

Dinner is $10 per person.  To attend the dinner, please contact the Administrative Office at 942-8885.         

Sergio Mendoza to Present the City's Comprehensive Plan Update at May's Breakfast
May 28th, 8:30am


Join us at our "Casual Conversation" Networking Breakfast on May 28th at 8:30am here at the Chamber.  Sergio will update Chamber members and guests on the City's Comprehensive Plan. Breakfast is free, but please RSVP to the Chamber at 942-5774.  

There are six Public Input Planning Sessions scheduled:
1.Visioning Session -- May 29, 2014, 6-8pm
2. Land Use Session -- June 2, 2014, 6-8pm
3. Parks & Recreation Session -- June 9, 2014, 6-8pm
4. Natural Resources/Environment Session -- June 16, 2014, 6-8pm
5. Transportation Session -- June 23, 2014, 6-8pm
6. Findings Session -- July 21, 2014, 6-8pm
 
Public Planning Sessions will be held at Hobart Community Center, 111 Old Ridge Road, Hobart.
