Hello Commuters!

Can you believe it is November already? This semester just seems to be flying by. We're sure that you are all excelling in your academics and getting involved on campus. As Thanksgiving recess is approaching, we wanted to remind you of a few safety tips:

- Be sure to lock all doors and windows

- Do not pack your car the night before you leave, you don't want any of your belongings to be stolen

- Turn off and unplug any electrical appliances

Click here for a full list of recess tips!

Also, be sure to sign up for our Commuter Lounge. Room 221 in the Student Center is now a lounge for you! Click here to sign up.

And remember, if you want to continue to stay on top of everything that is happening on campus, make sure to "Like" Hofstra Student Life on Facebook or follow @HofstraStudents on Twitter. Also, be sure to check out our new Student Life blog and log onto your Hofstra portal and check out Collegiate Link! It's never too late to get involved! Check out this blog post to find out how.

1,000 Thanks (& Giving) Project

The idea is simple:  Write a note of thanks to someone at Hofstra - perhaps an individual (or a department) that may not often hear expressions of appreciation for their work (custodial staff, Public Safety, Dining Services staff, office staff, faculty, administration, etc.)

We want to make it as easy as possible for you to participate. So, simply click here and write your expression of thanks. Please include:

Name of the person or department

Name of the department s/he works in

        Location (if possible)

        Your name (optional)

Your message will be forwarded - or delivered - to the appropriate people. Please submit your note before Thanksgiving.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at
