December 2010
Greetings!

Yellowstone National Park will be open this winter and there is no better place to stay than West Yellowstone, Montana.

On December 15th, the west entrance to Yellowstone Park opens to a magical experience and adventure. Each day, commercially guided snowcoach and snowmobile tours travel over snow covered, groomed roads from West Yellowstone, Montana to popular destinations inside the wintry heart of Yellowstone. Tours offer a choice between going to the Old Faithful area or the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone area. There are also snowcoach tours that include the unique opportunity to ski into the heart of Yellowstone.

All tours are conducted by interpretive guides. These local expert guides can provide a wealth of information about Yellowstone and personal experiences that you would never read in a guidebook.

Both snowmobile and snowcoach tours stop along their routes for a chance to see winter wildlife, experience the smells and sounds of a rushing, icy river, or grab the perfect photo opportunity.

No other season rivals the wonder of Yellowstone in winter. Erupting geysers and hissing vents propel amazing clouds of steam into clear blue skies. Eagles abound, buffalo pass within your arm's length-close enough to spot the icicles hanging from shaggy fur and hear their heavy breathing, and hunting wolves are much easier to see against the backdrop of snow-packed meadows.

Play and stay in West Yellowstone, and plan your winter getaway to Yellowstone National Park today.
