Happy Holidays
What a beautiful time of year! My favorite tradition is putting the years of collected ornaments on the tree...it is like unwrapping a memory each time one is placed on a branch!

Another favorite tradition is going into Manhattan to see friends and enjoy Holiday decorations! Our first party of the season was at our close friends house, with a gorgeous view of the city from their penthouse apt. Now that 3 sided terrace just needs a hot tub!
Philipsburg Manor
Sleepy Hollow, NY
I joined my son's class on a recent trip to the Historical Philipsburg Manor, as part of his studies on Colonial times.
The tour and activity center teaches about the thriving farming, milling and trading center owned by the Philips family in the 18th century. I found it fascinating to see how the family lived, and the differences in the furnishings and conveniences compared to what we often take for granted, today.
My favorite activity was in the Dutch Barn where we helped to thresh some wheat as they did many years ago.
The Manor is closed for the season, but is a must see when it reopens in the Spring!
