"Score Big Against Hunger!"

On November 5, 2017, 500 plus guests, staff and chefs geared up and rallied together as our fantastic Emcee Andy Avalos, NBC5 Morning Meteorologist, and Event Chair Denise Izatt, led us in celebrating the 26th Annual Celebrity Chefs Brunch!

Guests were greeted by the Immaculate Conception College Prep (ICCP) Lady Knights Dance Team and mascots from the Kane County Cougars and the Chicago Wolves for fun photo ops before bidding on silent auction items and sampling the outstanding menu from our incredible chefs! The dishes once again exceeded expectation and received rave reviews along with wonderful wine tastings from Mainstreet Wines & Spirits and select beers from Two Brothers Brewing & Alter Brewing Companies. Chef Klaus Lotter of Weber Grill in Lombard was awarded the distinguished “Silver Bowl” award, voted upon by all participating chefs. Chef Klaus has participated in the Celebrity Chefs Brunch now for many years! Congratulations Chef!

The afternoon continued with delicious dessert service, games and more fun with on the spot donations, raffle drawings and the live auction. We are so very appreciative of the generosity all sponsors, guests, donors and supporters show towards this cause! Without all of you, this event truly would not be possible and its success is critical to the work of our agency, the Holiday Meals on Wheels program and, most importantly, the at-risk seniors we serve.

A big thank you to our amazing volunteers: Chicago Bridge & Iron, Christ Church of Oak Brook, Volunteer Match, Livingwell Cancer Resource Center, Agency on Aging staff, family, grantees and countless friends. We cannot thank you enough!

With your help we can continue to meet that critical goal of providing to our most vulnerable seniors...ONE NUTRITIOUS MEAL A DAY, EVERY DAY!

THANK YOU 2017 Brunch Sponsors:

Denise Izatt & Lois Wisniewski
THANK YOU!
With the help of all of those involved, we were able to
raise over $95,000 for the Holiday Meals on Wheels program....

That is over 21,000 meals!

OUTSTANDING...GO TEAM!!!

Holiday Meals on Wheels
Do YOU expect to eat 7 days a week?
Many elders cannot. Holiday Meals on Wheels helps to fill the gap of the publicly-funded weekday program to provide our vulnerable and nutritionally at-risk elders with the most basic of human needs, one nutritious meal a day, every day!

Food insecurity - problems with the availability, accessibility and utilization of food - among low-income elders (age 60 and up) is a special concern since they may have unique nutritional needs and may require special diets for medical conditions. Many elders must choose between food, medicine, utilities and other necessities of living!

Due to increasing demand and insufficient funding, the publicly funded home delivered meals program is often limited to providing only one hot meal per day, Monday through Friday. Without the support of the Holiday Meals on Wheels program, home delivered meals would most likely be unavailable to home bound seniors on weekends and holidays.

$25 donation = 5 meals
$50 donation = 11 meals
$75 donation = 17 meals
$100 donation = 22 meals
