Roosevelt Student Spotlight- Hazel Tcha
During her freshmen year, Hazel Tcha learned she was going to become a mother. Instead of using this as an obstacle, Hazel decided to use this as a turning point in her life. She was married in a traditional Hmong wedding, gave birth to her beautiful daughter, and was later accepted into the Health Academy. Throughout her time in the Health Academy, Hazel successfully juggled her responsibilities as a mother and wife with her role as a Health Academy student. Hazel has volunteered at Community Regional Medical Regional Center, received dual enrollment Pharmacology credits, and is currently undergoing clinical training at the Golden Living Nursing Home through the CNA program at Duncan Polytechnical High School. Hazel is pursuing a higher education to become a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. As a nurse practitioner, Hazel hopes to provide a better life for her daughter and for those who need access to quality healthcare within her community.
