Epidemiology (the study of health outcomes and their causes) is the science that has the most immediate impact on people’s lives. But readers with a taste for science books probably understand particle physics better than epidemiology. HSL has several books about the history and science of epidemiology. Former epidemiology professor Carl V Phillips reviewed some of them.

Laughter Wellness

Laughter makes the immune system more effective, improves breathing and oxygen intake, can lower blood pressure, improves digestion, and most importantly reduces stress. Join Saundra, a certified laughter leader, for a night of giggles and fun! After an introduction to laughter therapy we'll go through some laughter exercises. Come prepared to laugh.

DIY & De-Stress

Before the hustle and bustle of the holidays hit, take a moment to prepare a DIY De-Stress Kit. We'll be making aromatherapy shower tabs, body scrub, and no sew neck heating pads. This program is being held twice. Please sign up for one session only.

Moms & Kids READ Book Club

Participants will take turns selecting a book for the group to read. (Book suggestions will also be provided.) Each month we will meet to discuss our book of the month, learn about the author and enjoy a themed snack.
