PRINCIPAL'S LETTER

Dear Holy Name families,

Thank you so much for your generosity in our North Bay Fire Collection. We will continue to hold drives in the coming months as we learn of our neighbors' needs.

We continue to check the Air Quality to determine if students will go outside for recess and lunch each day. We are also keeping windows shut as much as possible to ensure we are keeping the smell of  smoke out and any particles that are in the air. After sitting in on a few classes today I realized our classes are now very warm!  I am wondering if any families have fans that we can borrow until the air quality consistently shows improvement. If you have a fan you can lend us, please bring it to the main office. We will use our blue tape to put your family name on it so that we can ensure it is returned as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer!

Tonight Holy Name is holding a  Rosary Vigil in honor of the victims of the many hurricanes, the Las Vegas Shooting, and the Sonoma and Napa Valley fires. We hope that families will join us  at 6PM in the church. Students should check in with Mrs. Currier to receive their free dress pass.

We also hope you can join us this Thursday at 6:30PM to hear Dr. Michael Pritchard talk about Raising Compassionate Kids in a Challenging World.  He comes highly recommended by many educators and parents including Mrs. McCullagh and Mr. Eiras. This is a wonderful opportunity for our families, and I hope to see many of you there. All families who attend will receive one service hour and a free dress pass for each child in the family.  The 2nd Grade Reconciliation Meeting will follow Dr. Pritchard's talk from 7:30-8PM in the Art Room.

Our Fright Fest and Bingo is this weekend! We hope to see you on Saturday. Thank you to the many parents who have helped to organize the event and to those who will be volunteering on Saturday.  I am excited to see you there and hoping to bring my niece and nephew to share in the fun!

A big thank you to 1st Grade Dad, Kenji, who started up Holy Name's 1st K-2 Intramural Program! The students enjoyed playing soccer this past Sunday, and they will also have games this Sunday.

Boys Basketball and Boys and Girls Baseball Sign-Ups are due next week. 5th-8th Grade Basketball Tryouts are Saturday, October 28th and 3rd and 4th Grade Tryouts are on Saturday, November 4th. Please see the Athletics Section for times.

Mother/Son Bowling is on October 29th from 5:30-7:30PM at SeaBowl. Sign up forms went home today! It will be a fun evening with our moms and students!

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be here before you know it! Information about online sign ups went home today. Please note that sign-ups begin at 8AM tomorrow morning- just follow the instructions on the letter sent home. If you have any questions please give us a call.

We are very grateful to be working with your children. Please don't ever hesitate to contact us should you have any questions or concerns. Have a wonderful week!

Thanks,
Natalie Cirigliano, Principal

A MESSAGE FROM FATHER ARNOLD
Join us for prayer tonight, October 17, 2017, 6PM

As we care for others,
We learn how to cover our sorrow with a smile.
We learn how to stay vigorous despite all the tasks we endure.
We learn how to give hope even though ours is unclearly seen.
We learn how to give strength even at times that we are weak.
Be a blessing.
Be a giver.
Be an encourager.
Be a true servant.

GOD BLESS US!
-Fr. Arnold
