Home Performance with Energy Star Business Development Guide

According to EPA, over 130,000 American households are more energy efficient, comfortable, and healthy thanks to the DOE/EPA Home Performance with Energy Star program (HPwES).

Maryland joined HPwES as a sponsor in late 2007. For four years the program has faced the challenge that every home performance contractor and utility program manager encounters: trying to understand what will motivate homeowners to do energy improvements.

Lucky for you, those in charge of creating and implementing their program can now share their success with you in "Maryland Home Performance with Energy Star: Lessons to Share on Marketing and Rebates."

Home Performance with Energy Star Business Development GuideOakwood Homes, LLC, has been building Energy Star-certified houses since 2002. But it wasn't until this past fall that the company's leadership team asked itself the following questions:
  • Are we doing enough to have our houses be homes that will withstand the test of time?
  • Can we build a cost-effective net zero energy house?
  • Could someone seven generations from now buy a house that we built in 2011 and have it meet their expectations?
Find out what they discovered here.
