Home Sneak Peek- The Ferris Home

In the spring 1907 the home at 439 NW 14th was originally constructed as a prairie farm home and sold to Emory E Westervelt for $6,500. Mr. Westervelt was an executive with Pioneer Telephone Company.  Pioneer Telephone Company is accredited with building the very first skyscraper in downtown Oklahoma City, the Pioneer building.  The home was purchased in 1930 by Cleveland Harrell and his wife Mickey. The Harrells extensively remodeled the home into an English Cottage Style complete with Steep gables, Brick Veneer, and an enlarged East Side.

The Ferris family purchased the home in December 2012 completed restoration work and moved into the home late May 2013. The family loved the elements original to the home such as the Frankoma Pottery Fireplace in living room as well as the small water fountain in the kitchen. The Ferris family made extensive period appropriate renovations including windows and light fixtures. In addition the powder bath, master bath, and kitchen were updating along with new landscape design.
